Livonia Celebrates America 250<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the Livonia Historical Society held a public event honoring the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The program was co-sponsored by the City of Livonia and Bill Joyner’s newsletter, “Friday Musings.” On July 8, 1776, the first public reading of the Declaration took place in Philadelphia.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Families attending the program were given a parchment reproduction of the original document as a keepsake from the evening. The program was viewed as memorable by the estimated crowd of 500 who were at the ceremony.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
